Favorite Times
Some of my favorite times with Dad is when he comes to the kitchen while I am cooking dinner. He tells me of the adventures he had growing up in southern Colorado. For instance - he grew up in a cabin with a dirt floor. During the winter when it snowed they would have to sweep the snow out when they got up each morning because it would blow in under the door. Brrr... give me central heat any day. Also, they didn't have a car so their transportation was horses. I love hearing his stories.

Mom, When we come to visit I love hearing those same stories, I used to love listening to my Grandparents talk about stuff like that, but with them gone I really enjoy listening to Grandpa when he talks about it.

He has some amazing and some scary stories. One is about the time his parents left him and his brother alone for a few months. They weren't even teenagers, but they ran the farm. They grew up fast back then.
